Missionary Report No 63 15 months ago, our district was just 4 of us. We have grown! Monday, June 12th, 2023 Today we had a lot happening. It started with a pot luck lunch with all the missionaries, seniors included, 16 in total. The Kings and the missionaries then headed off to the golf driving range and then the missionaries returned to the chapel to play board games. We had the Grangers, who served in our mission and visiting Cairns, come for dinner at 5pm. We enjoyed very much catching up with them. Then at 7pm we had our Seniors FHE for the North which was our turn to host. The Grangers were keen to join in as well. Tuesday, June 13th Murray had District Council Meeting tonight. Wednesday, June 14th Rex Lookout, on the way back from Port Douglas We headed up to Port Douglas as it was June's birthday. Monday, 5th June, 2023 This morning we picked up Marcella and Manny to take them to the airport. Nimai left the previous week. We then headed off for Murray to interview Brother and Sister Luki senior. For those from Geelong, Duane's parents. Two humble, faithful members who have been a real bedrock for the church here in Cairns Tuesday, 6th June In the morning we had District Council Meeting. It was decided that this coming Monday would be District P Day which happens once a transfer, which means the elders from Atherton and Innisfail also join and this time also the senior couples. We went to buy lights for the elder's bikes as the others had been stolen. Wednesday, 7th June This morning we went to visit the Wetzels. She is originally from PNG but joined the church in Hervey Bay. We met her husband for the first time on Sunday and he expressed a desire to come to church also. Benioni-Walker Family Monday, 29th May, 2023 This morning Murray mowed Marcella and Nimai's lawns. We then went shopping for more items for the house in Atherton. Tuesday, 30th May Today we headed up to Atherton with the items we bought yesterday. We spent the afternoon assembling a desk and chairs. Wednesday, 31st May We spent the morning preparing lunch for the missionaries prior to Zone Conference. We then had Zone Conference via zoom from 1 to 4 pm. It was a very motivational conference and Elder Roberts with his companion was one of the presenters. At the end, time was given to missionaries to share their feelings about Elder Clarke, who is serving in Atherton, and will be leaving at the end of this transfer. From feelings expressed he is highly respected by all those who have worked with him. He and Elder Keung, his companion, have been very helpful and thoughtful in assisting us in getting the house in Atherton ready for the new senior couple. The long ar...

Most of our seminary students and teachers at the activity on Saturday. Monday, 22 May, 2023 Today we had Senior Council (on Zoom) with all the senior couples and we have a new couple that has just arrived from Arizona, the Talbots. This afternoon went shopping for more furniture and bedding for the house in Atherton. Tuesday, 23 May This morning we had District Council and it was my turn to teach the Self Reliance lesson. We are now doing Emotional Resilience. I then helped Gareth move house. Fortunately, he didn't have much. The rental market is very tight here in Cairns and he was very worried that he wouldn't find another place to live. I felt inspired to introduce him to another Church member who has a spare room and was looking for someone to move in to help him out. Hoping it all works out!
