Benioni-Walker Family |
Monday, 29th May, 2023
This morning Murray mowed Marcella and Nimai's lawns.
We then went shopping for more items for the house in Atherton.
Tuesday, 30th May
Today we headed up to Atherton with the items we bought yesterday. We spent the afternoon assembling a desk and chairs.
Wednesday, 31st May
We spent the morning preparing lunch for the missionaries prior to Zone Conference.
We then had Zone Conference via zoom from 1 to 4 pm. It was a very motivational conference and Elder Roberts with his companion was one of the presenters. At the end, time was given to missionaries to share their feelings about Elder Clarke, who is serving in Atherton, and will be leaving at the end of this transfer. From feelings expressed he is highly respected by all those who have worked with him. He and Elder Keung, his companion, have been very helpful and thoughtful in assisting us in getting the house in Atherton ready for the new senior couple.

Thursday, 1st June
Today Murray interviewed the two missionaries who knocked on his door. It was a very touching interview.
We then did shopping and cooking in preparation for the dinner Yoriko had organized with the missionaries and members.
Friday, 2nd June
This morning we did flat inspections. We had to make sure that both flats have CO detectors.
We then picked up a friend of the young sisters and took him to the chapel to be taught by the sister missionaries. When we first arrived there was no reply and so thought he might be walking to the chapel. Then Murray decided to drive back to his place and one of his family members had just arrived and got him for us.
Then in the evening, we picked up Tara and the elders to go visit a family from PNG who are good friends with Tara. The mother has a strong belief in God and a couple of years ago she was in a critical condition with a short life expectancy and Tara suggested she receive a blessing from the elders and five years later she is living a normal life.
Saturday, 3rd June
Took Yoriko to the airport as she is going back to Japan for a week.
In the evening we had dinner with Tara and the elders at the Benioni-Walker family. He is from Melbourne and knows members that we know from there. They sent us home with leftovers which were much appreciated the next day being fast Sunday.
Picked up people for both meetings but what was a lovely surprise was a less active member who we gave a ride home from emergency last week came with her Mum.
