Today we had Senior Council (on Zoom) with all the senior couples and we have a new couple that has just arrived from Arizona, the Talbots.

This afternoon went shopping for more furniture and bedding for the house in Atherton.

Tuesday, 23 May

This morning we had District Council and it was my turn to teach the Self Reliance lesson.  We are now doing Emotional Resilience.

I then helped Gareth move house. Fortunately, he didn't have much. The rental market is very tight here in Cairns and he was very worried that he wouldn't find another place to live. I felt inspired to introduce him to another Church member who has a spare room and was looking for someone to move in to help him out. Hoping it all works out!

Then went to Bunnings and at the checkout we bumped into Taj who we met for the first time at Institute the previous week.  He seemed quite excited to see us which was really nice.

Wednesday, 24 May

We headed off to Atherton as the white goods and furniture were arriving at the house today. Fortunately, the Atherton elders have the spare key and were able to be there for the delivery.

Got the house ready for the new senior couple. Had to do a bit more shopping locally and then headed back to Cairns in time to pick up CJ and his friends for Youth.

Thursday, 25th May

I spent part of the day making pizzas for Institute which we both taught that night. Love the Young Adults up here. Made 4 pizzas which was about 2 pizzas too much!

Friday, 26th May

This morning after Margot's bike ride we went for a walk together which we haven't been doing as regularly as we used to.  As we headed for home we bumped into Marcella.  It was great seeing her as it had been a couple of months.  Found out they were leaving for Tasmania on the Wednesday as Nimai has a job at a hospital down there for two months.  We arranged to drop by the next day to help them.

Then went shopping for the seminary activity as we were doing the fruit platters and also baked two banana chocolate chip slabs.

Saturday, 27th May

Up at the chapel by seven as the seminary activity started at 8am. We have four seminary teachers up here and organized an amazing car rally with questions related to doctrinal mastery.  There were probably about thirty in attendance.  Then that was followed with another great activity to encourage the students to ask questions and seek for answers.

Then in the afternoon went to Marcella and Nimai's to help them clear the garage. Murray has offered to mow their lawns for them while they are away.  Found out that Marcella's sister who served a mission in Bolivia and is now living in France is back active in the church.

Sunday, 28th May

I was released today as Seminary and Institute Supervisor but am still on the District Council.

Between meetings went to pick up a sister and her child for church. The elders had visited her family during the week.
