Clockwise from bottom - Schick, Black, Keung, Key, Spackman, Margot, Hamilton, Wintz, Bergeson, Ceff Monday 20 February 2023 Not a lot happened today. I think more happens tomorrow! Tuesday 21 February 2023 We went to visit our friend June up in Port Douglas today. Once again we went to the Courthouse Hotel for lunch and once again I had the Vietnamese Chicken and Prawn Salad. That is what you should have for lunch when you go to Port Douglas! After lunch we went back to June's place and had a game of Scrabble and a piece of her home-made cheesecake which was absolutely delicious. I do like a good cheesecake! (and a good game of Scrabble, but I was lucky to come in third place today) 22 February 2023 Thursday 23 February 2023 Busy day today with interviews for my podcast etc. This morning I interviewed Catherine Christoforatos who is a recent convert of about 4 years down in Brisbane. She has a great story to tell and you can watch the interview here. Later today I was finally able...

The last lunch - l to R Chadburn, Black, Spackman, Ricks, Schick, Hamilton, Ceff and Ceff Monday 15th February 2023 Apart from an early bike ride/workout in the park/bike ride home, I think today was pretty much an at home day with probably lots of rain. Most days for the last week or two it seems, it has rained an inch or two. Tuesday 14th February 2023 Today, being the last P-day that we will all be together as a District (most likely anyway) we had all the Elders to our place for lunch. After lunch we took our new friend Lois to a medical appointment. Lois is indigenous lady, originally from Palm Island, and has lived all around Queensland but has just in the year or so moved to Cairns. She saw an advertisement the Church had on Facebook and has been taught by the young Elders and has been to Church twice. She has also been to dinner at the Ziegelbauers and the Mitchells with us. Both of those families (who are very closely related) are Torres Strait Islanders, so she has felt at ho...

Tuesday 7 February 2023 We dropped in to see our new friends, the Wilferts, today, and took them some of our home made bread. I think they liked it. We have been a bit slack in recent times with our bread making, and it is something that people really appreciate and it's cheap to make - an all-round winner! Wednesday 8 February 2023 Do you remember in my last mission report than I talked about what we did on Saturday 4 February? We visited Josephine Falls, a popular tourist spot about an hour and a half drive away. This was an activity organised by a member here, who brought 2 semi-active/part-member families together for the day, and one of the mothers is scheduled for baptism very soon. We were taking some photos at one lookout spot, where people were swimming. A young lady who had been swimming photo bombed us and then excitedly walks up to me. She'd spotted my name tag (the only indication I was a missionary) and told me she was a YSA member from the Canary Islands, working...

Well, as I have often said, the briefer the blog post, the busier we have been! Even though I have only put out one interview (see below) this week, there has been a fair bit of work behind the scenes. Tuesday 31 January 2023 District Council with the young missionaries today, with me teaching the financial self-reliance lesson. Nothing too exciting there, especially for the young Elders! Wednesday 1 February I went out on the boat with John this morning to try to fix something on the top of the mast, which is somewhere around 9 metres above the deck, which doesn't sound much till you start climbing it. I didn't think I would need the winch to help me, but the second time up I decided that I would. I didn't get a picture from the top of the mast, but I should have! In the afternoon, Margot and I visited Shirley Skewes so that we could interview her for the podcast. Shirley is just the loveliest lady you could imagine, and it was a real pleasure interviewing her. Thursday 2 ...
