Mission Report No 70

Blane and Kara Johnson visiting with us.

   Monday 31 July 2023

We had a District P-day today. We had a lunch at the Church meeting-house and then played some games. It was fun!

It's been about 2 weeks since I've been kite foiling and I miss the beach, so I went out to Yorkey's this afternoon just to have a walk along the beach, and at least breathe a bit of salt air!

Tuesday 1 August 2023

This morning we dropped the Talbots to the Airport as they are going down to Brisbane to be with the McPhersons at the Temple for their big day.

I think we did a bit of shopping today - furnishing the new house for Elder and Sister Carr, who will be up here very soon.

Wednesday 2 August 2023

Quiet day, with our Come Follow Me class tonight.

Thursday 3 August 2023

I think we had some furniture arriving at the new house at Mt Peter today. Then this evening we went to pick up the Etheridge family from the airport. They arrived back from Tassy, after working down there for 2 months. It was great to be able to welcome them home.

Friday 4th August 2023

We visited Sr Paha Wetzel in hospital today. Her husband, good old faithful Hans, was sitting there with her, and he was asleep in his chair. She was in good spirits, but anxious to go home, I think. She's had a stroke though, and she needs to wait for some handrails to be installed so she can navigate her way around safely.

Saturday 5th August

Margot went out to Machan's Beach to get her hair done today. In the afternoon while Margot was still not home, I went out to Yorkey's for a kite foil session. The wind has been quite strong lately and today was no exception. It was the strongest and gustiest wind that I had tried to kite foil in. It was not a total disaster, but to be honest, it was not a lot of fun. But it was still good to be at the beach and in the water.

Sunday 6th August

Church in both Cairns Branches today. Blane and Kara Johnson were there, renewing their friendships with the Cairns members. They served here as a senior couple 8-10 years ago, and they were the one's who found the apartment that we now live in.
