Elders Schick (leaving) Bergeson, Spackman (leaving) and Key (at the back) Monday, 15th May 2023 Today was transfers and the elders leaving stopped by on the way to the airport to say goodbye.  We had to take the car the elders had been driving to the panel beaters as part of the underneath was being held up by gaffa tape which Murray had done several months ago. Tuesday, 16th May Today we picked up the new sister missionaries, Sister Hale who is from Oregon and Sister Boonsarn who is from Thailand, from the airport.  Many are excited about having sister missionaries serving here again as it has been a while. Two new elders also arrived, Elder Lyons from Washington and Elder Rydalch from Utah. We then took lunch to the Davies and the sister missionaries came with us. Since the sisters were without a car, we then took them shopping and took them to a dinner appointment they had that night. Wednesday, 17th May We had the missionaries over for lunch. Discovered they love potato b...

Tai Chi group Monday, 8th May, 2023 Today the Kings drove up from Innisfail to have their car serviced. We met them and spent the morning together. We went to Muddy's Cafe on the Esplanade for a smoothy, as well as doing a bit of shopping at Cairns Central. We then prepared a meal to have with a sister in the Branch. While there, her carer called to say she had had an accident.  It turns out that her carer is also a member of the church but has not attended for a long time.  She asked if she would like a blessing and arrangements were made with the missionaries to give her a blessing the next day. Tuesday, 9th May We had the Wilferts over for lunch as it was Brother Wilfert's birthday. I, with the younger missionaries, gave a blessing to the lady mentioned yesterday. We did a cookie drop this evening but unfortunately the person wasn't home. Wednesday, 10th May I did an interview with a lady, Amber Pearce, from the States, which you can watch here (please like, comment or s...

There's one in every crowd, isn't there? Monday 1st May, 2023 This morning Murray had another treatment for his back with Sister Davies. It was feeling normal until he tried to get out of the car. This afternoon, we watched the funeral for Sister Heather, in Geelong.  I will miss Wendy as she has always been a pillar of strength to me. Tonight, we had our first Seniors FHE via zoom for North Queensland.  It was a little comical at the start as not all of us are experienced with technology, but we are quickly learning. Tuesday, 2nd May This morning we picked up Elder Hamilton and Elder Wintz to go and do Tai Chi with the other elders. I noticed we were being observed and when we had finished, the person came to speak to us and said she does Tai Chi also. At least she recognized we were doing Tai Chi. We received a call from the company hiring a seasonal worker from Samoa as he wanted to find the location of the nearest chapel. Murray connected him with the Elders in Atherton. L...
